Wanderlust Records

78 We're pleased to announce the debut release on Wanderlust Records: Flying, by bassist and composer Garth Stevenson. The album has 14 tracks ranging from solo bass and minimalist piano to fully layered compositions featuring of bass, percussion, organ and voice. The music is cinematic in quality and draws upon inspiration from experiences in nature, particularly from a life-changing trip to Antarctica last year. Many of the songs were composed in yoga classes then were re-recorded in a studio. The album is 75 minutes long and is arranged to follow the arc of a yoga class. Garth's goal was for teachers to greet their students, chant om, hit play and not have to touch the stereo until the end of class.

The CD cases were handmade in the mountains of Nepal, using traditional Nepalese Lokta paper. Each case washand silk-screened and tied shut with small, beeswax-coated brown thread, woven through orange beads. Click here to see a video of the cases being made.

Flying is out now and for sale on Garth's online store and iTunes
