A natural wanderer, Katie has spent the last decade living, working, and loving life on multiple continents. As a family nurse practitioner and nurse-midwife, Katie honors the wisdom of various healing art forms across a myriad of cultures and religions. Whether catching babies with local midwives in Guatemala, directing a cholera response team with Doctors without Borders in Nigeria, teaching yoga to Catholic priests in Haiti, or providing wound care for needle exchange participants in inner-city DC, she is ready to get down and dirty with you and will meet you wherever you’re at. Katie recognizes that diversity strengthens our interconnectedness as a human species and is consistently awed by the beauty in both our light and shadow sides.
Formally trained in Kundalini yoga, AcroYoga, and Prajna yoga, Katie weaves lighthearted laughter and personal experience into her classes. She often geeks out on the beautiful interplay of Western science and Eastern philosophy and shares her insights with random thoughtfulness. Katie bows deeply to the entire golden chain of teachers whom have shared their eternal wisdom – too numerous and varied to count - and feels blessed to take the seats of both student and teacher in her daily practice.
