Future Sound of Yoga
The Future Sound of Yoga is the creation of Angel (yoga teacher) and Matt Singmin (DJ) – two music passionate yogis who met by chance in the dance tent at the Glastonbury Music Festival in the UK. The project was born in January 2010 when they ran an experimental yoga + music session in Sydney, which fused together their shared passion for movement and cutting edge electronica. The experience struck a chord with yoga and music lovers alike, providing an alternative night out experience where people could move, connect and self-express.
Since 2010 they have toured extensively around Australia, performing at both music festivals (Peats Ridge, Playground Weekender, Splendour in the Grass) and yoga festivals (Byron Spirit, Bodhi, Bondi Yoga Festival). On the international stage, they have been featured at the Bali Spirit Festival, the Hawaii Spirit Festival and the Hong Kong Asia Yoga Conference, as well as in London where they held a weekly Saturday night residency at the Life Centre through the summer of 2011. They have also curated their own special events including the Phoenix Weekend (a 200 person retreat) and Night Creatures (a Halloween party featuring DJs, tantra, kundalini and cacao).
