Marianne Williamson: How to Carry Your Yoga with you

Posted by admin on 4/9/13 in Inspiration, Community

"We don't spend all day in our yoga practice: the point is to carry it with us as we go out into the world."  In her Speakeasy talk entitled, "The Art of Aligning Body & Soul", Marianne Williamson helps us explore our spiritual relationship with yoga and meditation: not only how they affect us both internally, but how they can ultimately create a collective understanding, shaping us into compassionate global citizens.

As she says in her Wanderlust Whistler Speakeasy (click player below to view), "Everything we do is infused with the consciousness with which we do it. It's not just what we do in the world today, it's about who we are while we are doing it."

"There are far more people in the world that love than who hate, but hatred has a perverse kind of courage. People hate with conviction today. A Course In Miracles says, 'Love produces miracles, but miracles are born of conviction.' We need to love with the same level of conviction with which some people hate. We need to have the same kind of courage behind our love; the same kind of intention behind our love. We have to have the same kind of effectiveness behind our love and commitment behind our love that a few among us have behind their hate."

1273 Marianne Williamson is an internationally acclaimed spiritual teacher. Six of her ten published books have been New York Times Best Sellers. Four of these have been #1 New York Times Best Sellers. A Return to Love is considered a must-read of The New Spirituality. A paragraph from that book, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure," (a quote often misattributed to Nelson Mandela in his inauguration address) is considered an anthem for a contemporary generation of seekers. Marianne’s latest release is entitled 'The Law of Divine Compensation', and she is offering a 5-part course on the laws of work, money and miracles. Wanderlust Festival is indebted to Hay House who helped us realize the entire 2012 Speakeasy Lecture Series across all four festivals (Stratton, VT in June 2012; Copper Mountain, CO in July; Squaw Valley, CA in late July; and Whistler, BC, Canada in August). With Hay House's amazing roster of speakers (which you can witness in person at their incredible "I Can Do It" events), it's no wonder that they helped elevate the conversation at Wanderlust's Speakeasy this past summer. We encourage you to stay tuned to the Hay House FB feed to make sure you know the next time one of their authors is speaking near you.
