Beginning this week, Intent
will be partnering with our friends at Manduka
to seek out stories about how the practice of yoga is transforming the lives of everyday people — and we’re beginning our search at Wanderlust Festival Vermont! Over the next few months, we’ll be on the look out for stories of YOU
. How did you come to the practice of yoga? What keeps you coming back to the mat? Who inspires you to keep growing and changing, even when life gets hard? This initiative is about shining a light on the stories behind the intents. So stay tuned. Great things coming on Intent Blog.
In the mean time, as the much-anticipated festival kicks into high-gear, the energy and excitement around Stratton Mountain is palpable. It got us thinking about this festival’s namesake — wanderlust. What is it about travelling to distant places and meeting new people that seems to spark the soul’s fire? Where does the yearning to wander come from? Here’s what a few well-known authors and musicians had to say:
“Because he had no place he could stay in without getting tired of it and because there was nowhere to go but everywhere, keep rolling under the stars…” — Jack Kerouac
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
