Andy’s first experience with meditation was at the age of 5 when he went to Tai Chi with his mom. He felt peace just by observing the practitioners moving with grace and ease.
In 2001, Andy felt a strong desire to reconnect with this state. Serendipitously (or maybe not?) yoga and meditation appeared on his path.
At his first yoga class, he was awed by the power of being totally present, like when he was a kid lying in the snow, watching clouds.
Andy is now a certified and experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200 hours) with Yoga Alliance. His teachings have been influenced by workshops and teacher trainings offered by David Swenson, Ido Portal, Odelia Goldschmidt, Mark Darby, Patrick Creelman, and is embarked on a 1100-hour advanced teacher training program in the Ashtanga Vinyasa system tradition with Paul Dallaghan at Samahita.
In his teaching, Andy hopes to trigger new body connections by offering creative and dynamic flows all while reminding students of the importance of equanimity in the posture by staying connected with the breath. He also tries to inspire his students to calm mental chatter, get out of the comfort zone, risk a little bit, laugh and do it again! According to Andy, yoga gives us the opportunity to find our true selves, discover our potential to the fullest, and live a centered and compassionate life.
